Next Level Street Photography: Foto Walk with Pia Parolin (DE)

Street photography is more than just capturing everyday life. It is an art form that invites us to see the world with new eyes. Experience it for yourself during an exclusive photo walk through the enchanting old town of Wetzlar.

After our first event in winter was sparsely attended due to an unexpected snowstorm and icy roads, we are excited to offer this successful event once again.

On Saturday, November 23, from 2 PM to 5 PM, you will have the opportunity to explore the art of street photography with internationally renowned photographer Pia Parolin. Learn to use light and shadow and capture emotional moments.

Pia Parolin received her first camera from her father at the age of nine, who taught her the techniques and joy of photography. After years of landscape and macro photography, she began street photography in 2016. Today, she considers herself a social documentary photographer who composes her photos directly in the camera and keeps post-processing to a minimum.

The photo walk offers a unique opportunity to learn from Pia Parolin and bring your own personality into photography. Street photography is about telling stories and capturing the mundane in a captivating way. Pia Parolin will teach us how to transform banal scenes into compelling images and express our own reality through the lens.

The photo walk also provides the chance to learn in a small group and develop your own style through discussions and practical exercises. Join us as we explore the world of street photography with Pia Parolin and tell our own stories through the lens. The photo walk promises a creative journey where we will rediscover the art of seeing and capturing. Looking through the Leica lens will change your perspective on the world.

The meeting point for the photo walk with Pia Parolin is the parking lot at Wetzlar Town Hall. Please bring your own camera. This event will be held in German.

Born in 1965 and raised in Milan, Pia Parolin holds both Italian and German citizenship. As a tropical ecologist with a PhD in ecology, she has spent many years of her life in the Amazon rainforest. Her professional journey has taken her through countries such as Italy, Germany, Venezuela, Brazil, South Africa, and finally France, all of which she considers home.

With her expertise as a PhD biologist and wetland ecologist, Pia Parolin is dedicated to the ability of photography to convey emotions and draw attention to specific issues and injustices. Her artistic vision and distinctive style have earned her numerous awards, and her works have been exhibited internationally in renowned galleries.

Pia Parolin is not only known as a talented artist but also for encouraging her students to explore the creative potentials of photography and to forge new paths in visual art
