Lecture: „70 Jahre Leica M“ Leica Galerie Wetzlar
-
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the legendary Leica M series, Leica World invites you to a special lecture titled “70 Jahre Leica M” on December 18th at 7 PM. Stefan Daniel, Vice President of Photo & Design at Leica Camera AG and a long-time member of the Leica family, will guide you through the multifaceted history of the famous M system.
In this anniversary lecture at the Leica Headquarters, Daniel will provide fascinating insights into the development and milestones that have made the Leica M an icon of photography. Starting with the predecessors of the Leica M3, which was introduced at photokina in Cologne in 1954, he will highlight the technical innovations, distinctive design, and timeless quality that have characterized the Leica M system for generations.
In addition to the historical development, the lecture will also address the challenges and successes that have accompanied the brand on its journey. This includes adapting to competition from SLR cameras and the ongoing optimization of M lenses, whose image quality and precision remain exemplary to this day.
The lecture offers a unique opportunity to look behind the scenes of Leica’s success story and learn more about the philosophy that has made the Leica M series one of the most renowned cameras in the world for 70 years. Photography enthusiasts and Leica fans are warmly invited to experience this evening full of history and passion. Admission to the lecture at the Leica Headquarters is free, but registration is required.
