German Down Sports Festival

As a proud partner of this year's Down Sports Festival in Wetzlar, we cordially invite not only the participants and their families, but also all visitors to the event and interested parties from the region to an eventful family excursion into the world of Leica.

A special highlight awaits the festival participants: We are offering a free photo shoot. A professional photographer will pose you alone, with your family or your friends in front of a suitable background. You can conveniently receive the finished photos via a download link. Prior registration is not required.

Take the opportunity to combine the photo shoot with a visit to our interactive Ernst Leitz Museum or take a look at the production process. Festival participants and their companions receive free admission with their medal. There are also three fascinating exhibitions to discover at Leica Welt during the festival weekend: The ‘Exposed’ exhibition by musician Bryan Adams and the special exhibition ‘Leica Design’ await you in the museum. In the Leica Gallery, you can marvel at ‘Elegia Fantastica’ by Emanuele Scorcelletti.

The German Down Sports Festival is the world's largest sporting event for children, teenagers and young adults with Down syndrome. Every year, over 800 participants and their families eagerly await this special day. Here, the athletes can demonstrate their skills in various disciplines and try out new sports. But the festival is much more than just a sporting event: it is a meeting place where over 4,000 visitors meet, socialise and have an unforgettable time together.
