„Im Jahr des Drachen“: Book presentation with author and photographer Andreas Jorns (DE)

On March 22, a very special highlight awaits you at our photography studio: Photographer Andreas Jorns will present his latest photo book "Im Jahr des Drachen," which will be released on February 8 and marks his 17th print publication. This lecture is part of an exclusive tour Jorns is undertaking following the book release.

Andreas Jorns describes his new photo book as a personal milestone, as it differs in many ways from his past works. This includes the fact that, known primarily for his striking black-and-white portraits, he now explores a much broader range of genres in this new book.

In the second lecture of his tour, Andreas Jorns will share fascinating insights into the creation of this extraordinary project. He will take the audience on a journey from his early photographic beginnings to the motivations and challenges that led to this work. Personal anecdotes, behind-the-scenes stories, and the artist’s passion will make this evening an inspiring experience.

The lecture will begin at 6:00 PM in our photography studio and will last approximately 90 minutes. Afterward, we invite you to join us for a discussion round. The entry fee is 10 euros, which includes a freshly printed copy of the newspaper „einBlick“, featuring exclusive background information and previously unpublished outtakes from "Im Jahr des Drachen."

Andreas Jorns (*1966) is a renowned photographer from Haan (Rheinland), known for his photo books, which he publishes himself. Twice a year, his free newspaper „einBlick“ is released. In his podcast „Radio Jorns“, he discusses photographic topics and plays his favorite music. In 2023, Andreas Jorns was appointed to the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh).
