Wide-angle lenses open up entirely new ways of seeing—when used with intention. On Saturday, August 22, Udo Zell invites photographers to a hands-on workshop exploring how focal lengths of up to 28 mm can be used creatively to produce striking and unconventional image compositions.

A wide-angle lens does more than simply capture a wider field of view. It offers new creative possibilities, enhances the sense of depth, and allows photographers to guide the viewer's eye with intention. In the workshop "A Change of Perspective – Exploring the Creative Potential of Wide-Angle Lenses up to 28 mm," Udo Zell demonstrates how to make the most of these creative opportunities.

Following a concise introduction to the underlying concepts, participants will head out together to put theory into practice. Through a series of hands-on exercises, they will learn how to use perspective creatively, connect foreground and background effectively, and rediscover everyday subjects from fresh and unexpected angles. Throughout the workshop, the focus is on mindful observation, thoughtful composition, and making the most of the creative potential of wide-angle photography.

The workshop is designed for both enthusiastic beginners and experienced photographers who want to expand their creative toolkit and further develop their visual style. Individual guidance and group discussion ensure that every participant receives practical feedback and fresh inspiration for their own photographic work.

The workshop takes place on Saturday, August 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Leica Photo Studio. The participation fee is €399 per person, including lunch. Places are limited to ensure personal instruction and plenty of opportunity for individual questions.
